What happens in Assisted Living?
Most folks who join us in our Assisted Living, are coming from their home, or an Independent Living senior community. They are looking for Assisted Living most often because their dependence on their adult children or grandchildren has increased to a point where it is challenging for everybody and potentially not safe for them. It is typically a family member who is looking for Assisted Living, the senior is sometimes able and willing to participate in that process, and sometimes not.
In our Assisted Living, we have 1 and 2 bedroom apartments (no studios). They have balconies and sunrooms, and a nice kitchenette (refrigerator/freezer/microwave unit, a sink and cabinets above).
There are pull cords in the bedroom and the bathroom. We also require our Assisted Living residents to utilize our emergency pendant system. Our Care-giving team, whom we call Resident Assistants will respond to those systems.
We provide a wide offering of daily activities, fitness opportunities, outings to restaurants, museums, events, etc.
All of the utilities are included, (including internet and cable). The only utility Residents pay for is their phone.
The meal plan in our Assisted Living includes 3 Meals a day. Our dining room is open from 8am to 6pm, and residents can get food any time during those hours. During breakfast hours (8-9:30) we offer a daily special, a continental breakfast, and eggs to order. During lunch hours (11:30-1:00) we offer 2 specials. During dinner hours (4:30-6:00) we offer 2 specials as well. In addition, there is an all-day breakfast menu and an Always Available menu. The Always Available menu has normal restaurant type foods on it, burger, BLT, some salads, sandwiches, soup, etc. A lot of flexibility is offered in our meal plan.
Most people think that Assisted Living is more like life in a Nursing Home. In our community it is definitely NOT! Our Residents are fairly independent, and active, and interactive. We actually expect that our Residents in Assisted Living will have the ability to live independently in their apartment for at least 2 hours at a time. Our residents come and go from their apartment as they want, they go out with family and friends for an hour, the day, a week. And, they also have some protective oversite and access to the assistance they need!
Our Transportation is very user friendly. Three days a week, we can take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius at no charge. Additional transportation is available for an additional fee.
Housekeeping is provided every week!
Linen Laundry is provided very week!
Trash removal is so simple – we go into the apartments 2 times (or as needed) every day, and take the trash.
Pool (Aquacise 3 times a week)

- 24 hour oversite by Resident Assistants (up to 2 hour checks)
- 7 day nursing coverage (12 hours per day on site, on call 24/7)

- Individualized Care Plan*
- Assistance with Showering*, Dressing*, Grooming*, Medications*, Escorts* (as required by Care Plan)
